Thanks to Nuffnang, Destination NSW, Qantas and Rydges
Sometimes a short getaway to a neighbouring city is all it takes to rejuvenate oneself.
I just got back from a fun and exciting 3 days 2 nights stay in Sydney. Even though this was not my first time holidaying in Sydney, I have gained different experiences from my every visit. It’s true when my Sydneysider friends said that there is a lot to do, see and experience in Sydney in any season of the year.
I have to admit that it has been a while I’ve flown Qantas to Sydney, and it was a wonderful start to the trip! Unlike the other carriers it was a pleasant surprise to actually get served a meal on the flight. I enjoyed a tasty beef pie on the trip there, which has given me some interesting ideas for a future post 🙂
When I was there, I’ve got together with other bloggers. When there’s a group of creative people got together, brainstorming and swapping fun idea is a must! Since we were in one of the most thriving dining scenes in Australia, trying out different restaurants was also on my to do list!
{My first hotel selfie on the blog! As you can see my travel attire was all about baggy T-shirt, baggy cardigan and jeans.}
I stayed at Rydges North Sydney for the weekend. For a relaxing weekend, being in North Sydney allowed me to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still within a short driving distance to the CBD.
On the first night in Sydney, I have attended the Nuffnang Sydney launch party at ECQ Bar in the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, overlooking the night lights of Sydney Harbour Bridge. It has been a while since I visited this area at night. The gorgeous night view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge took my breath away. The glittery night lights and the sound of soft waves are the makings of a romantic spot. I wish my beloved could join me on this trip.
Next up is the Burger Project which is located in World Square next to Din Tai Fung restaurant. It is the brainchild of Rockpool Group Directors Neil Perry, Trish Richards and David Doyle to bring the well-loved gourmet burgers from Rockpool Bar & Grill to the people, with affordability and high quality working hand in hand. I did enjoy my good’ol Aussie classic burger with handmade patties made with freshly ground 36-month Cape Grim grass-fed beef, crisp lettuces leaves, sweet tomatoes, beetroot and their secret sauce. And the crispy hot wings were also a highlight!
From one Neil Perry’s eatery to another, my next meal was at Spice Temple. It has been on my wish list for a while. What a great feeling to be able to cross an item off my wish list! The menu pays homage to and draws inspiration from the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi and Xingjiang. The dishes are designed to share and we had a banquet of nine dishes with matching wine.

The Sunday conference at the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney (Macquarie Room) was the last agenda of the trip. To me, it was a much needed get together to make more blogger friends and knowledge sharing. The experience was further sweetened by the gorgeous location overlooking the water and within walking distance to Sydney Opera House.
{I could not resist the temptation of taking a couple of snaps of the fresh and delicious lunch provided by the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney! I could not help myself, as a food blogger ha!}
