This post is brought to you by Nuffnang and Qantas.
My fellow Bloggerati, Khalil, over at fdprn.com is currently giving away a trip to the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2015 thanks to Qantas. The winner and a plus one will receive return flights from anywhere in Australia to Melbourne via Qantas, accommodation at the Rendezvous Hotel in Melbourne and most importantly, event tickets to the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival!
{The Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne: Built in 1913, this meticulously restored hotel retains the elegant style of the early 1900s while providing all the convenience of 21st century technology and amenities.}
This is a dream trip for any food enthusiast and I know some of you would love the opportunity to win the dream trip!
This year’s Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is presented by the Bank of Melbourne and will take place from 27th February to 15 March 2015. Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the festival has expanded from a modest program of 12 events back in 1993 to a whopping 200 events which filled Melbourne’s labyrinthine network of restaurants, laneways, trendy basements and dizzying rooftops as well as spilling into spectacular regional Victoria!
In addition to exploring various dining venues, it’s also the time when the Festival brings together Australia and the worlds’ most talented chefs and winemakers for you to eat, drink, learn or simply just to celebrate over 17 days in March. The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2015 is gathering together some of the finest culinary minds in the world including Dan Barber (Blue Hill, New York), Matt Abergel (Yardbird Hong Kong) and Ruth Rogers (River Café, UK), to name a few.
I have compiled some of the Melbourne Food and Wine events which may interest you:-
Langham Melbourne MasterClass: Sunday, Mar 8 – AM
Half-day Langham Melbourne MasterClass includes exclusive meet & greet opportunities and a gift bag – MasterClass returns for 2015 with an enticing line up of chefs from around the corner and across the globe. Watch these masters of the kitchen prepare dishes and share insights acquired over decades of devotion to their art. Come take a seat at the table, and get a taste of inspiration.
The Outdoor Essentials: Saturday, Mar 7- AM
The Essentials with Paul Wilson including lunch & a signed cookbook – MasterClass just got edgier with an outdoor masterclass dedicated, naturally, to outdoor cooking. This is not about chops on the barbie, it is for committed outdoor cooks who want to hone their skills and learn new ones. Don your sombrero and spend Saturday with Paul Wilson, author of the recently released ‘Cantina’ and learn how to make crowd-pleasing, street-style Mexican food.
Highway One Street Party, Mar 7- PM
Spend an evening with some of Victoria’s greatest wines and winemakers – young and old – and four of Australia’s most thrilling chefs cooking in one of Melbourne’s most wonderful outdoor settings. A celebration of eating and drinking in this State, you’ll be having your glass filled by some of Victoria’s most legendary vignerons (Bindi, Crawford River, Mount Mary, Best’s, William Downie, Patrick Sullivan, Chapter Wines), with food prepared, outdoors, by four of the country’s most exciting young chefs Dave Moyle (Franklin, Hobart), Dave Pynt (Burnt Endz, Singapore), Aaron Turner (Husk, Nashville) and Josh Murphy (Builders Arms & Moon Under Water).
