I have gone through a phase where I was living on toasts. Especially when I have to cook for myself, toasts are my choice of meal as it is pretty easy and versatile. Not to mention it was a cost-saving exercise. 🙂
There 101 ways to make your toasts interesting and fanciful. Here are my top 4 ways of having toasts: 2 savoury and 2 dessert toasts (or how I would like to regard them hehe..) Enjoy!
Sauteed mushrooms with dried herbs and garlic + baby spinach leaves + sunny side up egg { I love this so much that I have dedicated a post just for this.}
 Sliced avocado + sunny side up egg + sweet chilli sauce
 Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread + strawberries
 Peanut butter + banana + maple syrup
From a toast lover to another, why not share your favourite way(s) of having them? I open to try new ways! 🙂
Anything with a fried egg wins my vote!
Thanks Ann! Fried egg is not only visually pleasing… it makes a plain o’ toast amazing. 😀
LOL – love your toast post (hey that rhymes)! What’s the bread you’re using – it looks scrummy.
Believe or not, they were the cheapie bread loaves from Woolworths (the ones with sesame seeds) and Harris Farm (wholemeal). Artisan breads are for special occassion…on daily basis, I’m quite contented with cheapie loaves from the supermarket. After all it is the toppings that are the highglights… 😀
I love toast with avocado! I mash the avocado and add a little lemon, salt and whatever else tempts me. Smeared on crunchy toast is amazing!!!
Got inspired now – I have a bunch of bananas and some kiwi. Cream cheese and kiwi, banana and something. Or maybe just mashed banana.
I have GOT to try out those dessert toasts!
I usually have either vegemite with mashed avocado and fresh cracked pepper, or poached egg with baked beans.
These are GORGEOUS!
Sprinkle a little wheat germ on the yummy banana toast for some added folic acid & vitamin E!! Thanks for the beautiful pics & recipes. I’m your new follower!
Thanks for your suggestion and kind words! 🙂 Welcome to the fuss free cooking family. xx Emily
My favorite toast breakfast is toast topped with heated canned black beans topped with cold salsa! Very tasty!
