Jill Dupleix’s Mustard Chicken Wings

It’s pretty obvious that I have a problem with leaving my blog layout alone.Β  My initial layout was 2 columns and eventually I’ve changed to 3 and now I’m back with 2 again. Similarly, this is the 9th banner I have created.

Never had I thought there was so much fun in creating banners. I truly enjoy the process of taking pictures, cropping them, tweaking their sizes and adding fonts to them. That said, my beloved reckoned that IΒ  have gone nuts with my recent obesession. I had aΒ  feeling that he grew tired of me kept asking for his feedback. πŸ˜›

If you’re wondering if chicken wings had anything to do with my current obession, well not exactly. The motivation of roasting a tray of mustard chicken wings came about when I needed a break from tweaking the layout. Not only that, they also served as a reward to my beloved for putting up with my incessant questions ofΒ  “do you think this looks ok?”.

Mustard Chicken Wings

(adapted from Good Cooking – The New Essentials by Jill Dupleix)

Serves 4

Ingredients:

400g chicken wings

1 tbsp honey

2 tbsps Dijon Mustard

2 tsp lemon juice

Salt and pepper

Method:

1. Trim the chicken wings and pat dry.

2. Mix the honey, mustard, lemon juice, sea salt and pepper in a bowl, and toss the wings well until coated. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.

3. Cook the marinated wings on barbecue until golden brown and cooked through, turning once.

4. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Place the chicken wings on a rack set above a foil and/or parchment paper lined tray (to ease tray cleaning after it’s done). Bake for 30 minutes or until sticky and golden.

{Spread the wings and nibble away!}

The wings look so yummy! I bet they tasted great and they were a good distraction. Your site looks good, and there is nothing wrong with tweaking it until you’re happy:)

      Hi Nancy,

Yeah, the wings tasted great and I couldn’t have enough of them. Maybe these will become my home version of bucket wings on this Friday nite, hehehe.

Maybe it’s a girl thing, I can’t seem to stick to one style. I have the same problem with my hairstyle and nail colors too. πŸ˜›

Maybe this is a blogger thing – playing with banners or perhaps indecisiveness runs in my blood. I keep telling my beloved that “this banner is the one” and he was like “uhm, uh huh, we’ll see…” πŸ˜› He knows me too well. πŸ™‚
