Gluten Free Banana Mini Cheesecakes with Caramelised Sugar Topping + A Personal Update!!!!

Gluten Free Banana Cheesecake |

For a person who loves stability, I went through a lot of changes in my life for the past six years. My beloved and I moved around mainly for his job and that’s fine because sometimes you just have to move wherever the job is. By living in different places, it gives us the chance to explore, meeting new people whom eventually became our lifelong friends and experiencing the local cultures.

I have been residing in the New South Wales regional towns for all these years. In these six years, I’ve lived in Orange for four years. There’s something about its thriving food culture and the locals’ palpating enthusiasm for local and fresh produce which motivated me to start a food blog. Fast forward four years later, who’d have thought blogging is the only hobby I am still sticking with? (Maybe I don’t have commitment issue after all ha!)

You may wonder where I am going with this.

Home Made Lemon & Lime Syrup + Drink Ideas (ft. Brita 3-Way Water Filter Tap)

{Home Made Lemon & Lime Syrup}

Growing up in an Asian family that emphasised the importance of cooking with the freshest possible ingredients (local and home grown preferred), my mum was always conscious about our drinking water. “Never drink directly from the tap” and, “drinking water has to be thoroughly boiled” were her mantras when I was growing up. When the household filtration system trend began, my mum bought one home almost immediately. I remember it was a bulky cylindrical filtration system sitting beside our kitchen tap with  multiple hoses running between the filtration system and our kitchen tap. Ever since then, she only cooks with filtered water. Since we’re such a soup-loving household (it’s a norm to have clear chicken broth to go with our main meals in our family), we all noticed there’s more clarity in terms of flavours in the soup. After all, my mum’s light chicken broth was not heavily seasoned.

Bianca from Wholefood Simply, Jenny from Ichigo Shortcake and myself were invited to the taping of one of the team challenges for MasterChef Australia in Melbourne not too long ago.

Words could not begin to describe how excited I was to be able to witness my favourite cooking show in its raw form, pre-editing. Watching team challenges at home, I can sometimes get so excited I leap from my couch (yes, I can be that dramatic!)  But when you’re on set, the excitement is ten times greater!
