Maple Syrup Flavoured Homemade Baked Beans

I have moved up one clothing size since I started blogging.

And yes writing a food blog has something to do with my weight increase!

Having said that, another more likely reason could be the age factor – the older one gets, the lower his/her/my (boohoo!) metabolism rate.

Translation: I can no longer eat the way I used to without exercising and my clothing size still stay miraculously stagnant.

Sweetcorn Chowder with Cheesy Toasted Tortillas [from Nigella Express]

Of all the recipe books which I own, my frequently used cookbook has to be Nigella Express. I have attempted a number of its recipes and the ones I have  blogged about happened to be croissants (case in point here and here). After all what’s not love about the flaky, crispy and buttery pastry right?

I’ve been eyeing on the sweetcorns chowder recipe for some time and all it took was one unbearable cold winter’s night (plus a light flu) to try this simple recipe.

I miss sunbathing…

I miss the sunlight

I miss the warmth

Cold weather and flu please go away!

{Say hello to my 1-year-old sun conure, Mango, or Mang-mang whom I affectionately call}
