Pumpkin Pecan Pie with Cornflakes Crust

I’m so proud of myself right now. I can’t help it, just look at the pie, my very first pumpkin pie. Oh, did I mention the filling is made from scratch too?

Despite the idea of  making things from scratch is impressive in my book, I’m convinced that I’ll need a shortcut for the filling next time. Some of you will agree that peeling through the stubborn exterior of a pumpkin (actually about a quarter of a  Japanese pumpkin) and cutting it into pieces are no piece of cake, especially when you’re relying  on an old and blunt generic knife to do the job for you. I should have used pre-made pumpkin puree instead. I should have. At the end of the day, I don’t think it’ll make much difference, am I correct? Even if there is any difference, there’s nothing nutmeg and cinnamon can’t fix right?

Curried Meatballs with Lentils (shortcut version)

I hope you wouldn’t mind me sharing a curry recipe using pre-made curry paste. Today I was swamped with errands and unfortunately, the day has gone by without me realising.

Uhm, the truth is  my supposed “errands” were  I got sidetracked when I was on my way to get some groceries. And I have a good reason: there was a warehouse sale where all books were selling for AUD $5.00.  The first thing that came to my mind was “recipe books!!!”. So yeah, I was deeply absorbed into the sale frenzy without realising hours had passed.

Jill Dupleix’s Mustard Chicken Wings

It’s pretty obvious that I have a problem with leaving my blog layout alone.  My initial layout was 2 columns and eventually I’ve changed to 3 and now I’m back with 2 again. Similarly, this is the 9th banner I have created.

Never had I thought there was so much fun in creating banners. I truly enjoy the process of taking pictures, cropping them, tweaking their sizes and adding fonts to them. That said, my beloved reckoned that I  have gone nuts with my recent obesession. I had a  feeling that he grew tired of me kept asking for his feedback. :P
